Confimed tornado northeast of London Sunday evening.

Strong to severe thunderstorms quickly fired up Sunday afternoon
and evening over parts of southern Ontario. These thunderstorms
spawned one tornado and a number of funnel cloud reports especially
north of London.

A tornado assessed as Fujita scale zero (wind speeds estimated up
to 110 km/h) has been confirmed by a damage survey team from
Environment Canada and the university of western Ontario. The
Tornado occurred northeast of bryanston which is 20 km north of
London. This is the 6th tornado of the year. The summer severe
weather season runs from late April to early October and Ontario
normally receives an average of 11 tornadoes each season.

As well as some wind damage to trees and crops.. A roof to a pig
Barn was heavily damaged as the tornado moved through farmland
Along an intermittent damage path at least 3 km long. Video clips as
seen on ctv news and photos from trained spotters clearly show the
tornado occurring Sunday evening at about 6:50 PM.

Environment Canada.
